Buryatsky Underground Creative Community
We are the creative collective “Buryat Underground (Б.А.Т.О.)” - a multidisciplinary team of independent artists from the sacred Lake Baikal region.
Our mission is to explore, preserve, and represent Buryat culture through art, music, fashion, and events, integrating it into contemporary contexts.
What are we doing?

We are building cultural bridges between Buryatia and the outside world:

• Street art and gallery exhibitions

• Cultural events and festivals

• Fashion design and design objects

• Music performances and parties

• Educational programs and masterclasses

Every B.A.T.O. event offers an authentic journey into the cultural universe of contemporary Buryat artists and musicians.

Event format：

We call our events ‘‘MEETINGS.’‘

They consist of two thematic blocks:

1. Daytime/Evening part

Educational and art programme:

  • Master classes and workshops
  • lectures on the art and history of Buryatia
  • Interactive ancient games
  • Food and traditions

Night-time / Late-night segment

Music and visual immersion:

  • DJ sets and live performances
  • Decorations, banners, masks, lighting
  • Ethnic performances with traditional instruments

Examples of daytime programmes:


Bas-reliefs with Toma 3000

Master class of creating plaster casts. Guests create, paint and take home unique art objects.


Silkscreen printing

Guests bring their own clothes, which our artists will print with our original designs. A lively and memorable process right on the spot.


Shagai Naadan

A set of Buryat games played with sheep bones. More than 20 varieties that develop dexterity, tactics, memory and thinking.

The final is a tournament for the title of ‘Surkharban Champion’.


Buryat cuisine

If the venue allows, we serve traditional treats: buuz, boov, shulen and Buryat tea.

Music Programme (evening/night)

The sound of our MEETINGS is a mix of tradition and modernity:

BATO residents performing on stage — DJs, producers and live artists working with ethnic motifs, noise, techno, bass and experimentation.

B.A.T.O. is a living gateway to Buryat culture.
Our events are not just shows.
They are an experience of presence, a transfer of knowledge, a meeting of worlds.
We do not stylise culture — we are its bearers.
And we do everything sincerely, deeply and with the maximum involvement of our guests.
